# tatbot draws a self portrait

October 21, 2026 · https://tatbot.ai/updates/2026-10-21/

## Machine
- tatbot drew a fine-line self-portrait of its own arm on my left forearm. 114 strokes and about 2 m of line from a 3RL needle, over two sittings. The video shows the sketch variants, the stencil, the forearm scan and the tattoo. [X](https://x.com/tatbots/status/2112925027641307228) [YouTube](https://youtube.com/shorts/gfmNEL-A6PM)
- Before skin, curved surfaces: the arm drawing a design with a ballpoint on a curved page. [X](https://x.com/tatbots/status/2110378187679293501) [YouTube](https://youtube.com/shorts/HrYWhC0QON4)

## Simulation
- A needle-in-skin cutaway from the simulator, then the arm tattooing a Flower of Life on a synthetic forearm. This one is a render, not footage. [X](https://x.com/tatbots/status/2111279334790988004) [YouTube](https://youtube.com/shorts/Klj3w55xQl4)
